Just thinking about the 1st July last year when I got to meet this beautiful man. So what if he’s 42 years older than me and married - his wife is so beautiful. If he ever asked, I wouldn’t say no! He’s still handsome.

Still can’t quite believe I’ve met him. It’s just one of those things where it just doesn’t seem real. But then I can close my eyes and hear him say “hello” and “it’s my pleasure” in that voice that is the vocal equivalent to galaxy chocolate. Silky smooth and oh so deep. Take me back.

I can picture that smile and glint in his eye, how genuine and kind he was. You don’t see that often these days! He’s just amazing to me.

Hello! Favourite F1 team is RBR. Although I do like Marussia, Caterham, Mercedes, Mclaren and Lotus as well. But my main team is RBR :)

Favourite driver would have to be Jacky Ickx. I’ve met him - he’s my hero, such a huge inspiration and such a lovely lovely man! Followed by Jackie Stewart, Rubens Barrichello, Stirling Moss and Alain Prost :)

Last night was one that I honestly thought would never happen… Ever. One of the bands I’ve loved since I was very little, had pretty much disbanded by that point, at least by the time I had properly read about them and wanted to physically see them live, they had.

This band being The Jacksons / The Jackson 5.

Ever since I was small, as far back as I can remember - I’ve looked up to, related to for various reasons, loved, respected and been inspired by all five as well as Janet, too. I respect and love each memeber for their own reason and individuality. Although I guess most of my life I’ve spent having MJ as my numero uno. Next would be Marlon, Jackie, Tito and Jermaine. I could never choose really who I liked most at one time. I liked them all.

Tonight - I got to see them live. I traveled two hours / one change by train to Bournemouth.

I got the bus, asking the driver for a return to the stop nearest the BIC. It went past that - way past that, really. He thought I knew the way. I didn’t. I pretty much hot footed it back down that route to the stop I thought it was and asked a family if they knew where it was. Thankfully they were actually heading the same way, so the mother of the family told me to follow them. I did and got there half an hour before the “doors” opened. Surfice to say the whole thing just stressed me out beyond contemplation! I calmed myself down by buying a tour shirt! Eee.

Finally the doors opened and I found my seat - 2nd row front of the side balcony! Was pretty damn good view. The support was superb, I wouldn’t have minded another ten minutes of her though, as she got a 25 minute set.

The Jacksons came on at 8:20. Brought. The. House. DOWN. Could not fault anything. They played all the well known songs and a fair few of the “slower” ones, too. As well as several of Jermaine’s tracks, I really liked those. A wonderfully perfect tribute to MJ, too.

I was blown away by Marlon’s voice, his charisma and stage presence, which from watching interviews and The Jacksons: A Family Dynasty he was just that - I wasn’t surprised. I could not stop smiling watching them, watching Marlon especially. I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for him. Jackie kicked butt, I think people underestimate Jackie and was absolutely superb! Tito was equally wonderful. Jermaine’s true talent and voice shone through, I was speechless and definitely cried several times!

I also had a brilliant MJ / Jacksons chat with the taxi driver after the show as well as meeting a group of people at the station who’d been sat below at the same concert.

I am just sat here and it feels so surreal. I never ever ever thought I would see 4/5 of The Jacksons live. NEVER. It’s just beyond surreal.

In his f1 tenure - 1980-1991 & 1993, he entered 202 grand prix and was with McLaren, Renault, Ferrari and Williams.

Known for his fierce rivalry with his team mate at McLaren Ayrton Senna.

After his retirement from formula one in 1993 he went on to be a commentator for French channel TF1 and as a advisor for Renault.

By his untimely death, he had won 2 grand prix, 6 podiums, 256 career points and one pole position.

His career ended abruptly when at the 61 Italian grand prix at Monza, his car collided with that of Jim Clark. Crashing into a barrier, throwing him fatally from the car and killing fifteen spectators.

Having had his suspension break on an earlier clash with Ronnie Peterson, he crashed his BRM. Tragically it caught fire and he was unable to free himself from the car.
